For lovers of local seafood the place to be was Dervaig Village Hall on 7th September!
Dervaig’s very own Seafood Extravaganza started 18 years ago to promote our splendid locally produced seafood, an important industry in north Mull. We are so lucky to have our local seafood suppliers only a few miles away, all here on the island. We have crab, lobsters and langoustines from local fisherman Kenny Turnbull and David Munro. The mussels are from the Wilson family at Inverlussa. Smoked trout, haddock and salmon are from the Swinbanks family in Tobermory and the oysters are from Gordy Turnbull just up the road at Loch Cuin.
The piece de resistance is the Dervaig Seafood Plank – and here it is…..
Wow!!
Music came from local island musicians.
There was a charity auction to end the evening. All proceeds from the event goes to the RNLI www.rnli.org and other charities. c£1,745 was raised this year.
